Recently, I stumbled upon the Meshtastic communication project, an amateur mesh-like radio network that operates without requiring any license. Utilizing an affordable small device capable of both receiving and transmitting radio signals, Meshtastic enables seamless communication and message exchange. As of February 2024, the project remains in its early stages, with node coverage in parts of Europe still limited but steadily expanding.
Meshtastic operates independently of other communication channels and does not rely on cellular networks.
Just last week, I acquired my first LoRa Meshtastic module and began experimenting with it.
